Aubameyang opens up on Arsenal captaincy

For a while now, Arsenal captain and Gabonese talisman, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been on the headlines over contract issues, with the striker set to enter the last year of his contract in the summer. Reports have since suggested that Arsenal have accepted their fate and are ready to sell Aubameyang in the summer should a proper offer come in.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has previously stated his adoration of the club, having watched iconic players of the past such as Thierry Henry and Denis Bergkamp when he was at a very young age. Now the player has opened up on what it feels like to captain the team.

“It's something crazy. The way it happened was a little tricky, I don't know how to say. It's a big responsibility but I feel well. I feel good doing it and I try to do my best. I try to give advice to the young players and I feel proud.”

Arsenal will hope they can finally put an end to the transfer uncertainty of the marksman and tie him down to a new deal, with the player still as crucial as ever.
