Rating the Arsenal team so far this season; Attack

Arsenal have not had the season the had planned for, going into the season, there was cause for much optimism after a relatively positive summer transfer window. The season was winding down to a close before the interruption.
We take a look at the player ratings so far, starting with the attack here.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-8.0

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has remained his stellar self and remained as prolific as ever.
He has contributed a team high seventeen(17) goals in the league and twenty(20) in all competitions and has been the best of the Arsenal attack this season.

Gabriel Martinelli-7.0

Gabriel Martinelli was signed to join the youth team until he attains the level to effectively become part of the senior team set up, but no one told the young Brazilian. He has largely impressed and has contributed ten(10) goals and five(5) assists this season.

Nicolas Pepe-6.0

After his breakthrough at Lille last season, more was expected of Nico Pepe. He struggled at the start and took quite a while to get his breakthrough goal. As the season progressed, he has slowly improved and has so far recorded six(6) goals and eight(8) assists.

Eddie Nketiah-6.0

Eddie Nketiah only came back from his loan spell at Leeds in January and has played just a handful of matches where he has impressed in bits. His overall play has been rusty but he has also shown good instincts in the box.

Reiss Nelson-5.0

Reiss Nelson was the most anticipated youngster heading into this season as he had just completed his loan spell at Hoffeinham when he started off well but then slowed down mid way and then ended decently.
He has recorded two(2) goals and three(3) assists this season, although he has been quite passive in matches and has let the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka get ahead of him in the perking order this season.

Alexandre Lacazette-4.0

This has been an honestly disappointing season from Alexandre Lacazette, having struggled with injuries early on, he returned to much fanfare but has been extremely disappointing. He has contributed only seven(7) goals in all competitions this season.

Bukayo Saka has been consciously left out of this list and will be added to the defenders rating in a subsequent article
