The meteoric rise of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

From the streets of Milan to the very top of European football, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's rise has truly been a remarkable story. Aubameyang, a native of Gabon, born in France and raised in Milan. In January 2007, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined AC Milan's youth team. Aubameyang would then join another French team, this time AS Monaco, on loan in the summer of 2009, before getting loaned again to Saint-Etienne, having only scored twice for the former. He would go on to impress heavily in the old mining city of France, scoring four(4) times and laying on three(3) assists which resulted in Saint-Etienne extending his loan to the 2011/12 season. It only took four(4) months for Aubameyang to convince the men at the top to sign him permanently, having impressed, and end his loan tours. He became a regular in the team and grabbed a first career hat-trick two(2) months later, he ultimately finished the season with a tally of sixteen(16) goals. He also grabbed a first career trophy that season having been part of the Saint-Etinne team that won the 'Coupe de La Ligue'.

Aubameyang would then tally nineteen(19) goals and eight(8) assists, earning himself a move to Borrusia Dortmund, the Champions League runner-up of the previous season. Aubameyang would make his competitive debut against Bayern Munich in the super cup with only just 13 minutes to play and still managed to lay on an assist in the game, before scoring a hat-trick in his Bundesliga debut against Ausburg, becoming the first Gabonese to appear in the Bundesliga. Months later, Aubameyang scored his first Champions League goal in Dortmund's 3-1 win against Napoli. He ended his debut campaign for BvB with sixteen(16) goals in all competition. He went on to score a total of 141 goals for Borrusia Dortmund also chipping in with 36 assists, finishing as Bundesliga top scorer in his last full season for the team, having peeped the unstoppable Robert Lewandowski to the gong by a solitary goal having scored a brace in the final match day of the campaign.

In January 2018, the Gabonese completed a transfer to Arsenal for a club record e61m. Of course, he scored on his debut in the 5-1 win against Everton at the Emirates, totaling an impressive ten(10) goals in (16) appearances in half a season. In his first full season, Aubameyang would add the Premier League golden boot to his collection. Aubameyang has continued to impress this season, with twenty(20) goals in all competitions and seventeen(17) in the league with only Jamie Vardy(19) boasting more.

For a kid who grew accustomed to playing bare footed in the streets, its been a truly remarkable rise to prominence with Aubameyang globally recognized as one of the best strikers in the world. What a player, What a man.
